Incidents at Gainsborough Moorings

In response to a report to the Canal River Trust about misuse of the pontoons and gathering of youths on the moorings in Gainsborough, we have had a positive response from a PCSO from the area with advice for mooring users and his request for your assistance in dealing with any future incidents.

In brief, the response from Chris Pearson, PCSO 2260, reassures us that the policing team are well aware of the problems that occur on the riverside, particularly during good weather.

He states that the local CCTV are also aware and have been asked to contact the policing team  whenever they spot youths gathering there.  Also every officer that works in the town has been emailed to request that they patrol the area when they can.

As a boat user, he asks that you contact Lincolnshire Police when problems are occurring so they can attend and deal with problems as they arise.

The new national non-emergency number is 101 and will connect you to the nearest police force. Please call 999 in an emergency.

He also generously offers his mobile number as a contact for anyone using the moorings if it is needed, this can be found below.

Please can we assist the local policing and CCTV teams with their requests and make sure you report any incidents as soon as you spot them which will hopefully lead to a quick response and the prevention of any dangerous behaviour before it escalates.

Thank you.
