Some words from the Commodor
“ Making A Difference”
I can write with confidence that our joint venture with the Farndon Boat Club was a huge success.
Many boats were involved with the boat handling competitions and quite a few for the first time, which is very encouraging. The weather was great and this gave spectators, friends and family the opportunity to observe from the bank. Saturday night saw the return of the group “The Splinters” and much merriment was enjoyed on the dance floor.
Sunday got off to a sunny start with rowing competitions, dinghy races and lifebelt throwing taking centre stage in the sales pool.
We were also privileged to get a flypast and short display from a Spitfire followed by Lee Stone, 4 times World Champion Jet Ski Freestyler gave everyone a spectacular display of his skills.
The raft race took on a new format this year where teams of four had to inflate their dinghy and complete a relay race. All present were thoroughly entertained.
With the presentations completed the Commodore’s Cruise set off from the marina with 25 boats in the flotilla, this was an amazing sight.
Thanks to everyone who helped out and made this a rally to remember.
