At the AGM on 17th November 2013 the committee and members present planned future means of communication with boaters so The Boating Association can continue to inform and represent boaters.
It was stated, and believed, that in these changing times with Canal & River Trust responsible for the upkeep of our waterways there is as much need as ever to represent river boaters.
Recognising how boater’s time is very precious and how modern communication is most popular digitally we will communicate by this means for the foreseeable future.
The web-site will continue to be updated with relevant information, a new Facebook page is in development and importantly the recently revised Trent and Ouse charts will continue to be published. A boating trade representative present at the AGM emphasised how important it is that these charts, essential for safely navigating the rivers, continue to be available. Representing our interests with regards to the Boat Safety Scheme is also considered important and the appointment of a Boat Safety Scheme Officer was confirmed.
Membership will be open to all boaters with an interest in the safe use of waterways and to ensure the widest possible audience for this information there will no longer be a membership fee. Simply provide an email address and a few simple details to confirm membership.
