Perhaps the most recent development is completion of a risk review regarding use of Lithium batteries on boats. Consideration is given to everything from mobile phone and tablet batteries, 12V engine and starter batteries to complete battery propulsion systems. No conclusions or actions have been decided yet as these will be risked based, thus it will be necessary to establish the scale of the risk.
The next step is likely to be a survey of boaters to establish what is being used and in what numbers.
