The Boating Association was set up over 70 years ago to promote co-operation and comradeship between all river users and all associated waterways, to ensure the extension, development and improvement of these waterways and of their facilities and amenities so as to make the waterways safer and more pleasant.
The Boating Association represents the collective individual interests of all Members in all matters relating to boating and the use of the waterways.
1948 – Skippers guide available on the River Trent
1949 – The Trent Boating Association is formed from the Trent Boat Club

About Our Logo
The Blue wavy line represents the river and the 3 Red castles are Nottingham, Newark & Torksey.
This logo was developed from our inception, we are proud of our heritage and maitain the same logo today despite our increased remit and strategy for the future of the Association.
TBA Achievements
Skippers guide turned into Trent series charts, fully updated 2011.
Floating Moorings are installed at Torksey Cut, Dunham, Cromwell, Stoke and Gunthorpe.
Waiting pontoons are installed at Holme lock.
VHF radios given to Trent Locks and Yorkshire navigations
Floating moorings installed at Washingborough, Bardney, Southrey, Kirkstead, Tattershall, Dog Dyke Antons Gout and Boston on River Witham.
BMYC moorings are installed.
Boat Safety Scheme guided to be workable.

1987- Trent valley association of powerboats merge with TBA
1992- Fully-fledged representative organisation
2004- Became The Boating Association (National – less regional)
2013- TBA becomes an ‘e-club’
2024 – Trentlink merges with TBA
