The Boating Association (TBA) looks after your interests with regards to:
- Safety on Britain’s rivers & connecting canals
- Boat Safety Scheme (BSS)
- Legal Matters- Licensing- NA Disputes- Rallies etc
- Adequate home base moorings at reasonable costs
- Adequate touring/leisure moorings & hook up facilitates
- Acceptable Lock manning levels & timing
- Adequate waterways staffing & maintenance
- Help & Advice on navigation & boating issues
- Improve navigation
- Increase boating numbers using our designated network

- Parliamentary Waterways Forum
- CRT National Users Group
- National Inland Navigation Forum
- Various local user groups
- We consult on a regular basis with all Major Waterways Associations
- We maintain contact with York City, Boston, Nottingham & Newark Councils on several matters of concern including, planning issues, trip boats, loss of amenities etc
- We are actively involved in various planning application items which could affect boating.
